WhatsApp has dived into the metaverse arena with Meta Quest integration

WhatsApp provided a glimpse of its metaverse plans when it launched Avatars in 2022. Now, in its most recent beta version, WhatsApp takes it a notch higher by using metaverse hardware with support via linking with the Meta Quest.
In the forthcoming WhatsApp update, users might be able to officially link their accounts to Meta Quest VR headsets. WABetaInfo found this feature while searching through the new beta 2.23.13.6 release. Even though the Meta Quest-linked device feature is still in development and no official announcements have been made, a screenshot reveals the progress that is made so far.
The current beta version does not allow the testers to try out the link or set it up, it offers a preview of the setup process.
Some fans have already attempted to install WhatsApp on their VR devices, despite the lack of adequate official support. Nevertheless, this forthcoming feature seems like it will manage to link an existing WhatsApp account to a Meta Quest device.
WhatsApp has actively explored many linked devices, including the Android beta 2.23.12.12. One of the devices that were explored included using iPads as connected devices, increasing the platform’s reach even further.
