Tezos, the eco-friendly blockchain protocol, has yet again shown the entire world its commitment to supporting digital arts, preparing a stunning NFT exhibition at this year’s Art Basel in Hong Kong.
Every year, Art Basel presents the public with new ideas, artists, contemporary masterpieces, and disruptive concepts relating to the latest trends. Alongside renowned art masters from old art, such as Banksy, Takashi Murakami, Damien Hirst, and Hajime Sorayame, this year’s exhibition featured an exclusive digital art experience from Tezos.
Tezos, the eco-friendly blockchain, made its debut at this year’s Art Basel with an independent and stunning exhibition named “NFTs + The Ever-Evolving World of Art.” Tezos NFT exhibition has now become one of the biggest highlights of the 3-day art fair.
The three-day art fair, which started on May 27 and ended on May 30, featured pioneer generative artists who teamed up with Tezos ‘s leading art platform, fxhash, to launch new NFTs. Tezos gave all invited visitors an exclusive chance to mint a unique generative NFT artwork for free on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Impressively, the free-to-mint idea gained massive adoption from the public, with other NFTs artworks from emerging artists minting quickly before the end of the art fair. These artworks included NFTs from Yazid Azahara, Ryam Bell, and Aleksandra Jovanić.
The highly anticipated art fair appears to have given fxhash, the leading digital art platform on Tezos, a significant boost. Remarkably, fxhash since then attracted over 12,000 new unique wallets, representing a 64% increase.
Furthermore, the art platform has recorded 524,809 transactions and a $6.03 million trading volume in the past 30 days, increasing 73% and 112%, respectively. Such an improvement is incredible in the current general crypto market dump.
Tezos’ Commitments To Support Digital Art
Tezos continues gaining massive traction for its commitment to supporting digital art. More artists continue flocking into Tezos’ ecosystem due to its eco-friendly nature, relatively lower gas fees, and highly engaging NFT community.
The platform lets NFT creators focus on content creation alongside educating their communities about digital arts. As a result, Tezos’ NFT ecosystem has become incredibly dynamic since its early days.
Hic et Nunc (HEN), the now-defunct NFT platform, is another perfect example of Tezos, which saw exciting series of explorations involving a variety of artwork. HEN became popular by allowing its community to see the diversity of NFT art.
The NFT platform has successfully incorporated scalable vector graphics, 3D modeling, programs, and other forms into NFT creation, rather than just being limited to pictures, video, and audio as material. As a result, the integration has enriched many people’s experiences in the digital world.
Even though HEN made its history, the united Tezos artists are working relentlessly to maintain the legacy. Tezos recently launched a similar new community marketplace dubbed Teia. The new NFT marketplace is a global and artist-run space, allowing NFT creators to explore and experiment with the paradigm of NFT arts. Impressively, Teia has attracted over 8,000 unique users and more than 82,450 transactions over the past 30 days.
Interestingly, objeckt is another popular NFT platform on Tezos, featuring HEN’s similarities. The NFT platform is transformed into an NFT gallery, offering collectors more than 652,000 NFT collectibles.
Tezos is also a hub for other virtual worlds such as the Metaverse, tz land. The Metaverse project allows users to build, deploy, trade, decorate and exhibit 3D arts in virtual worlds. In addition, the emerging Metaverse on Tezos supports artist communities and indie creatives, becoming a collaborative playground for many crypto artists.
The Public Acquires NFT Knowledge From Art Basel
During the Art Basel in Hong Kong, Tezos’ exclusive exhibition made non-fungible tokens (NFT) the main topic of the art fair. The presentation enlightened many people who previously knew nothing about NFTs. A middle-aged father, who shouted, “I need to see those NTFs,” at the venue of Art Basel, is a perfect example. However, his teenage girl corrected,” They are called NFTs, Dad.”
