The issue of nonfungible tokens driving change seems to put the spotlight on the film production firm, Rejell, and its NFT collections that it uses to support various causes.
Weekends are all about relaxing. But when it is sunny, you can go outdoors to enjoy nature and everything it has on offer. Nature always provides something inspiring and hopeful.
Some of the NFTs that drive change use various technologies and Web3 tools to create real-world impact. Rejell is a Germany-based film production firm that has recently stepped into the Web3 world with its first NFT collection.
Rejell NFT Drops Are About Art And Philanthropy
When NFTs picked up lots of steam in early 2021, it did not take long before people saw the philanthropic potential behind the nascent technology. Soon enough, everyone from NGOs to activists and celebrities was dropping nonfungible tokens to support several causes. Now, Rejell is relying on the charitable NFT bandwagon with a series of NFT collections.
The film production firm’s vision is to collaborate with various artists to develop beautiful and meaningful art”, all this time supporting sustainable and social organizations. In a nutshell, every collection focuses on a specific issue, with up to 50% of the proceeds going to a related, charitable organization.
About Origin, Rejell’s First NFT project
Rejell’s debut NFT project titled “Origin”, consists of 40 photographs captured by artist Torben Reimer. Notably, Reimer used an old analogue camera, which was set on a timer and attached to a racing drone to help capture the photographs.
One of the things that are interesting in Origin is the unpredictable nature of the creation process itself. The manually set timer gave just an 11-second window to position a shot. The old cameras were not reliable always. From figuring out the right drone speeds to avoiding crashing into trees, the entire process sounds like a gamble.
As the developers note on their website:
“There was no way to check images and recalibrate camera settings accordingly. We simply kept the faith that enough magic would be captured in our imagery to be worthy of this new realm that now exists beyond time in the form of NFTs.”
Nevertheless, the results appear quite stunning, featuring incredible shots of tree-covered landscapes and coastlines. There is a mix of surreal beauty in the images. The beauty instantly attracts the viewer.
The nonfungible tokens are now available for sale on OpenSea. 50% of these funds will go to The Climate Change Fund, an NGO that focuses on climate change mitigation. Apart from that, the collectors of the ten distinct 1-of-1 NFTs will also get the photo-negative and a print of the artwork.
