On February 12, 2024, The Sandbox confirmed it will launch its forthcoming Builder’s Challenge. The competition strives to highlight the creator’s talents and innovative spirit globally, offering an impressive prize pool of 1,000,000 SAND. In ten weeks, participants will aim to engage the Sandbox community with their distinct creations, leveraging the latest features of their free tool, Game Maker 0.9.
Introducing Creativity
The Builder’s Challenge centers on three pivotal phases: Publish, Engage, and Earn. Creators are urged to unveil fresh experiences or inventive variations within established genres, prioritizing replay value and a captivating First Time User Experience (FTUE) to draw in and retain players. Key strategies for heightening visibility include optimizing the Experience Page, actively participating in community interactions, and fostering collaborations with fellow content creators for promotional initiatives.
Rewarding Engagement
At the core of the Sandbox Builder’s Challenge is the Engagement Pool, a reward network that is designed to recognize developers based on the level of gamer interaction they attract. The Engagement Pool rewards developers based on community growth, player engagement, and session length. The more experiences you publish and the more gamers interact with and spend some time in your creations, the larger your rewards.
Developers participating in the Builder’s Challenge can check their progress and understand the great impact of their efforts via a dedicated analytics page.
This invaluable feature offers valuable insights into session durations, visit frequencies, and notably, visits from players who have successfully completed at least one quest. Armed with this data, creators can closely monitor the performance of their Experience and devise strategic plans to optimize for maximum user engagement.
In the entire Builder’s Challenge, participants enjoy Recognition and tangible rewards through weekly SAND distributions. The initiative by The Sandbox strives to propel digital creations and community engagement into the Metaverse.
The Sandbox advises guaranteeing your eligibility for rewards by completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure in case you are an individual, or the KYB (Know Your Business) process for those representing a corporate entity.
The Sandbox Builders’ Challenge Eligibility
To join The Builders’ Challenge, the participants needed to reach the particular eligibility for rewards and comply with The Sandbox’s eligibility criteria. Participants must be of legal age, have an active wallet for rewards, and comply with The Sandbox’s Terms of Use.
Furthermore, developers must save their creations using the latest Game Maker 0.9 version and ensure their accounts remain active on seven different days to highlight their true engagement.
Interestingly, experiences involved in other events or owned by The Sandbox employees, contractors, or partners do not qualify. The top 100 experiences will be reviewed for integrity, with bans issued for any malpractice. Nonetheless, experiences from Game Jams on the LAND of a Brand or IP and others on The Sandbox-owned land qualify for rewards, excluding those under the Land Leasing Program.
