Have you ever thought of mining Bitcoin when your car is parked? If your car is a Daymak Spiritus this will soon be a reality for you. Daymak Spiritus (Tesla’s rival) announces the launch of an electric car that mines Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Daymak, a company focused on light electric vehicles such as bicycles, scooters and three-wheeled cars, announced Daymak Spiritus, a patent-pending electric car that promises to have a comprehensive cryptocurrency structure. This structure has been dubbed the Daymak Nebula. According to the company, this structure will feature Nebula Wallet, a digital bitcoin wallet, and Nebula Miner, the ability to mine cryptocurrency when the car is parked.
Daymak Spiritus vs. Tesla
While Elon Musk has a love-hate relationship with cryptocurrencies on his Twitter and his electric car maker Tesla has decided to no longer accept bitcoins as a means of payment for its vehicles, a Canadian rival to the company has decided to take a firm stand in favour of crypto.
The project structure will allow each Daymak Spiritus unit to be a node in the Blockchain network. The Daymak Spiritus promises to redefine the mining user interface, as it will integrate mining hardware and cryptocurrency technology with a vehicle. The Daymak Spiritus promises to be “emission-free with solar charging capabilities”. This means that (at least in theory), the Daymak Spiritus would be able to achieve green Bitcoin mining and thus be more eco-friendly.
“The Spiritus car is for those who want more in life, and we are committed to putting our customers ahead of the curve. We envision a future where your highway tolls, your parking, and your drive thru order will be paid directly on the fly with crypto. Your online bills and your banking can be handled through the same software platform paid in crypto. And whereas most vehicles are depreciating while they sit in your garage, the Nebula Miner will make you money while your Spiritus is parked. The potential applications are limitless,” stated Aldo Baiocchi, President of Daymak.
The initial forecast is that the Daymak Spiritus will be available to the market in 2023. Despite this, the company is already accepting pre-orders for the Daymak Spiritus car model. The car models can be paid in Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum and Cardano.
Green Bitcoin mining continues to be a major issue in cryptocurrency industry
The issue of Green Bitcoin mining is a hot topic in crypto industry. Many remember that Bitcoin prices soared when Tesla, led by Elon Musk, communicated they would accept Bitcoin as payment for the vehicles.
Many other big players are now investing on Bitcoin. Another example of this is that after the announcement that Elon Musk had invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin, the value of the cryptocurrency soared and hit $48,000.
However, many also remember when Elon Musk also announced that Tesla would no longer accept Bitcoin because of the environment. This let to a strong drop in Bitcoin and crypto prices, which fell further down when China announced a crackdown on Bitcoin mining and imposed crypto restrictions.
Musk tweeted: “ Tesla has suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin. We are concerned about rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining and transactions, especially coal, which has the worst emissions of any fuel.”

Despite this, more recently Musk suggested Tesla could accept Bitcoin again.
This is inaccurate. Tesla only sold ~10% of holdings to confirm BTC could be liquidated easily without moving market.
When there’s confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners with positive future trend, Tesla will resume allowing Bitcoin transactions.

All this has brought the discussion of Green Bitcoin mining to the mainstream. According to Michel Rauchs, a researcher at The Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance, the increase in prices can indicate the energy consumption for bitcoin mining will also increase. “This is not something that will change in the future, unless the price of Bitcoin drops significantly”, says the researcher.
Even Bill Gates, 65 years old and with a fortune valued at over $100 billion, decided to start his machine gun against some contemporary trends, and bitcoin came into his sights.
In an interview with The New York Times, the billionaire said he does not believe that cryptocurrencies are in fact the future of the economy, as, according to him, their transactions consume large amounts of energy and could cause “a major climate problem”.
“Bitcoin uses more electricity per transaction than any other method known to mankind,” Gates said.
However, Bill Gates was not 100% critical of cryptocurrencies, and said he believed in their decentralized character. However, for him, the environmentally aggressive nature is discouraging, as these currencies tend to be the biggest carbon emitters in the financial sector.
